Jaguar Heritage Classic Parts have updated the XK8/XKR DVD.......now called
"Original Technical Publications-Jaguar XK8 & XKR-1996 to 2004"
I bought one (cost £50) but had to return it because the Parts List & Service Information
(Workshop Manual) does not cover MY2003 onwards.... the 4.2 ltr cars.
I think the title is somewhat misleading.......
Jill Bond at Jaguar Heritage said she would raise this concern with the DVD producer.
In the meantime (I.M.O.H) this DVD is probably useful only to owners of 4.0ltr XK8 cars
up to and including MY2002.

Re: XK8 XKR DVD Update
David
I bought the original CD some time ago.
The Title of it is: "Jaguar XK8 & XKR Supplementary Information 1997 to 2003"
JDHT Part Number: JHM1189 version 1.1
It made no mention of Workshop Manuals on the Contents list on the rear of the CD case so I had no issues on this. What I found disappointing was the poor quality of the various scans (sales brochures, owners manuals etc.)
Given that the last X100 rolled off the production line nearly 10 years ago I would have expected that JDHT would have made this a definitive product. Most disappointing!
I'll be keeping my £50

Allan
I too bought the original XK8 DVD some time ago......and it does have some useful info on it.My computers will still read this one.
The new version does have more info......but not the additional useful stuff for the later cars which justifies my £50.
I cannot help but believe that there have been mistakes made when this DVD was compiled.
The new X308 DVD is much more comprehensive, and therefore much better value for money.....in my view a "must have" for X308 enthusiasts.
Good job really......the original version was on a CD-ROM and my Win7 computers will not read it !

Re: XK8 XKR DVD Update
Hi David
I've just checked & my disc is CD-ROM not DVD & it works fine on Windows 7. The disc was compiled in May 2004 hence the date being 1997 to 2003.
Not including all available data on the X100 on this latest disc is poor judgement by JDHT

Re: XK8 XKR DVD Update
Allan,
I suspect that at least part of the reason why Jaguar Heritage aren't yet creating a full set of information on the DVD is that the XK8 doesn't formally fully fall under their remit until later this year. This is because it seems to take a while for them to establish the parts control system etc once the model has reached the "10 years from last produced" timeframe.
Once they have fully embraced the XK8 within their remit and taken control of parts diagrams and supply etc, I would expect them to construct a revised DVD as they have with x308 etc.
