ANOTHER JAGUAR BREAKER CLOSING DOWN

Postby Phil 18 » Sat Nov 08, 2014 6:19 pm

If you have ever had the pleasure of pursing around David Kelly's scrape yard you will know
what a good supplier he has been. I had the pleasure of going there about two years ago.
Having spoke to him today, he told me that he is shutting up shop in two weeks time. Sounds
like that there could be bargains to be had before the big dealers get a hold.

Shame. I like these guys.

Hope someone else will replace him.

Breakers are great guys. Efficient recycling and reasonable parts cost in one hit. And why not?

Forget the oil contamination. piles or half stripped shells and the guard dog with a vile temper. (Walthamstow, 1976 , with a security dog like a mountain bear...huge it was!!!!) The important thing is to attempt to beat the system and get decent used stock for cheap money.

Obtaining car parts by ebay is even better given an honest seller. The best bit is having the part arrive ib the post and not have to go searching yourself.

It used to be great fun broddling around the breakers getting bits for the car but I think that most places now won't let you go in yourself because of 'Elf and Safety.
Shame really.
Getting bits by post is fine but you don't get the 'Ah, I might need that bit later' effect and coming out with a wheelbarrow full of stuff instead of just the interior light that you went for.
