i thought the article was very good,

and just what was needed to attract more drive and diners for our regual gathering

i'm also happy that different people manage to come to different meetings, as this keeps it fresh....

Hi Vince

Sorry I am unable to make this breakfast meet, due to this lovely weather we are having! rain rain and more rain, I am running behind on work. Looks like I will be working.

Regards

Phil

ps If the car counting boys turn up, and there is more than 12 of you, I suggest throwing a
few bacon buttys at them.

Isn't it depressing how the busybody, jobsworth killjoys can even make us think about whether a few mates can get together for breakfast or not?!!
Sod 'em all I say!!

this Saturday folks,

weather will be fine and sunny ( if a little chilly )

but you know what that means, cold air is more dense , dense air has more oxygen , more oxygen means more fuel and more fuel mean MORE POWER !!!!!!

well , that was better than expected , lol

at least two of us thought we might be the only ones to turn up , and one was right until the second person turned up , lol

we even had new blood  , as a direct result of the magazine article two more members turned up , one from very far away , so he gets the prize of the day , well done Tom ( i hope thats his name  ) who brought an XJS along which was a late facelift ,

and another member ( embarrassing moment again , as i forget his name ) who turned up in a very nice '94 Daimler double six '40 ,

strange coincidence that both new bloods had the same colour car as each other , a rather nice dark maroon metallic colour ( almost black )

so well done to everyone who turned up today , six in total , nice weather for the most part , and great company again with a great english breakfast........

it also turned out that the manageress of the cafe thought we as a group had written bad comments about the AV8 on a blog, we had to calm her down and convince her it was not our group of particular Jaguar enthusiasts, and that we really like the AV8 cafe and is why we keep meeting there, must be the six or seventh meetup so far ,

i will investigate and see if i can find these bad comments she was on about ( its not on this site )

next meet will be November 29th ,

Good to see a couple of new faces......................and some old ones!
The cafe owner was very animated about a bad review left on a website. I can only say that I have always enjoyed my trips to AV8. We get good service, pleasant surroundings and a great breakfast. The staff are very friendly and, as a bonus, quite easy in the eye!
Anyway, good to see everyone and your nice cars.
Thanks as ever to everyone for sharing their knowledge so helpfully
Let's keep going over the winter. Even if the weather is awful or the salt is down on the roads and you don't want to bring out your nice Jaguar then come in your every day car - it doesn't matter.

David

ebay fuel pipe for your engine
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151442697858? ... EBIDX%3AIT

there is another for £25 to from another seller

plus this vacuum reservoir for the injector ECU

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XJS-XJ12-V12- ... 58b5d2f9d5

as for your ' stumble ' at ticker, even though it is only slight , we did see a difference to my own engine, i would either suspect a faulty spark plug , or more likely an injector that isn't firing , either from sticking, or more likely from a bad contact with the injector loom plug , or a break in the wiring , to said injector ??

as a basic test, you can take each injector plug of one by one while running, you should feel a difference in engine tone, until you find the one not working ( if there is one ) and the engine note won't change at that point ??

checking injectors is quite easy , get a 12v supply and use it on each injector so that you can hear it click , polarity doesn't matter for this test, if one doesn't click , then thats your issue, but raw 12v can usually free up a sticky injector , otherwise its out with the lot and the fuel rail etc

i have found the ' review ' of the AV8 cafe that the manageress was referring to ,

it was made by the XK8 club that meet there each month ,

nothing to do with the JEC or our own meetings there,

i have left our own comments in favour of the venue

BB. Many thanks for the links. Have just bought both items. I also picked up the dizzy cap and rotor you mentioned.
I've changed all my plugs at the last service and the plug leads too. I have just been listening to all of my injectors using a mechanics stethoscope and they're all ticking away happily.
I'm still thinking that either I have a vacuum leak somewhere or my distributor needs repositioning slightly.
Mind you, whilst I was looking under the bonnet I noticed that my heater valve is leaking coolant and there was a hiss of gas from the back of the aircon compressor. These are are both new developments!!
It never ends does it??
Having said that, had a good drive home and car going better than ever following the Terraclean service recently.
All winter to fiddle with it I suppose
Happy days!!

hmm

i would suspect a vac leak would increase revs across the whole 12 , so its possibly a gasket on the inlet manifold to head on one of the branches ??

or just the way your car is
