pre he xjs boot

hi guys anyone have a pre he xjs they can have a look at the inside boot carpeting for me my query isthere is carpet on the back of each rear light panel which wraps around to boot channell both side then the rear panel carpet is fitted and held in place by the rear panel long trim at each end of the trim just above i can see body colour ie in my case red is this the way they are or should carpet be fitted or is it painted matt black like the out side please see attached pic

Hi Keri,

Glad to hear that you're getting close to the end! You know what I'm going to say now! Don't pay attention to any replies that you get unless you know it's right for a 1975 XJS! I know that people will try to be helpful, but you don't really have a "Pre-HE XJS", you have the 1975 brochure launch car. I'm sure that there may have been differences between an early 1975 car and a 1980 car. I think you'll always get more meaningful responses if you put "1975 XJS..." in the title. We know of at least 44 cars that are 1975-1978 and it could be a good idea for you to contact the owners direct. Find the cars you're interested in the list of members cars and I can arrange for the owners to be contacted. And, as I always suggest, going and photographing OOM555R will always be your best bet.
