Hi

What do they mean by defective, is the tread uneven or is it the age of the tyre.I have the same problem just been serviced and Bearings are all Good my noise is coming from the Rear of the Car and the Tyres are five years old, they say tyres should be changed after Five or six years but tread is still good and am reluctant to change them.

I have taken It to another garage and had two new wheel bearings fitted to front ,the noise has now gone .The last front bearings were changed at only 10,000 miles ago The garage tell me my o/s rear tyre which is a goodyear and has only done 9,000 miles is wearing flat on one edge and they say that is also making a noise but I seem to think the rear wheel bearing has also gone.
