Why does my car give me a headache?

What about oily crankcase breather fumes? I had that with the clapped out Cortina engine I mentioned earlier. Engine bay fumes picked up by internal fan in the car. Emissions nasty and enough for me to nearly pass out.Just an idea for further investigation.

I would agree with Mike, check the crankcase breather pipe, had exactly the same on my wife's Fiat, and the breather pipe was leaking and it sits near the cabin air intake, so small amounts of fumes entering the cabin, not enough to smell but enough to give us a vague headache afte long journey. It was picked up on a routine service by the dealer, even though we hadn't mentioned it as did not even know it was a problem!
