removing radiator

Postby jagcat12 » Wed Feb 07, 2007 10:51 am

Warning when removing the nuts holding the white plastic P clips holding the metal bleed pipes to the top panel across the top of the radiator These P clips are extremely brittle through age, heat ect and if possible remove with open ended spanner as forcing a socket on the nuts will break the clips .Which I did and now find that they are not available and not listed in jaguar parts book for XJS.
If anyone can help with sourcing these clips would be grateful
Re an earlier posting i did about removing radiator without disturbing the air con yes you can fairly easily if the bonnet is removed.

Thanks David

Re these brittle little clips. I assume you mean the white ones. You could try Frost or Europa but i went to my local model shop and bought some thin brass and made them and packed them with cut tube. Don't think you don't need them, the cross pipe is about seventy quid and needs supporting other than on one side as chafing will kill it very quickly. Oh being brass, they polish up lovely
