Help! Car has had an overhaul on the coolant system (flush, new hoses, rad cleaned out, water pump, both stats) but we've been having idle issues so have removed the AAV and seen that there isn't any coolant in the manifold. The car has been through a few heat cycles, not driven under any real load or any great distance.
So before I panic - Any thoughts?

Re: Help! Coolant manifold empty?
What do you mean by no water in the manifold? If you've taken the AAV out are you worried because not much water has come out of the water rail?
If you've depressurised the system and it's cold then there won't be much spillage of you keep both caps on.
However, it's easy not to get enough coolant in if you haven't followed the correct procedure for filling it up and so haven't bled all of the air out.
