Waterless coolant

Hi,
has anyone had any experience with waterless coolant ?
It sounds like the answer to Xk cooling system problems, my xk120 does suffer from heat soak when it's switched of.
I think this is a common problem with the 4.2xk engine.
It sound good but expensive.

Sorry Vernon I have not used it. I loose so much coolant owing to a small leak in my radiator that it would be uneconomical

Yes I've had a small weep from my rad core, rad weld stops it and Evans who make waterless coolant said rad weld could be used.
Was hoping to get some feed back from someone who has used Evans waterless coolant before I tried it.
The 4.2 holds a lot of coolant, about 16ltrs, so quite expensive.

It might be best if you get the leak fixed first. It will keep your radiator up to pressure and you might find you do not need it

We are agents for Evans - it is really a good product. We have used it on V12 engines with excellent results - and we have used it in race application with excellent results.
The engine will run ever so slightly hotter - but far more controlled. The temperature wont suddenly spike in hot traffic for example.
Due to the cost - I would recommend ensuring you have no leaks or suspect repairs in the cooling system. I would advise fitting a new cotton reinforced coolant hose set and checking the radiator prior to use.

Thanks Keith, I have replaced all the hoses with cotton reinforced. I don't have any leaks or overheating problems . But I have had over heat when switched off, that is why I am thinking of going waterless.
Can you supply Evans coolant? As I live in st Leonard's would save on posting.

Hi Keith,
Looks like I have a small coolant leak from the back of the cylinder head ( exhaust side) .
Not sure if gasket or cracked head.
I think I may have to pay you a visit.
Will phone when free.
