GAIL HILL invites you to Oulton Park - Sat. 20th September

Postby dhdove » Fri May 23, 2014 6:15 pm

Hi all

I met up with Gail Hill recently and she said she would be very pleased to host an XJS BB members visit to a JEC race event. :D

Date as above at Oulton Park.
There will be free entry tickets for early takers.........., Also Gail will give us a guided tour of the Paddock and introduce us to other racers. She will share some of her experiences racing XJS's and other Jags on our tour. You might even get her autograph!

Not to be missed I would suggest.....

Book here fast or miss out!

That sounds like a great meeting - I would highly recommend all who can do attend this!
We will be there as race series sponsors and look forward to seeing some more members there.

All the best,
Keith

Thanks both, I think it's a good event and it was very kind of Gail to offer to host us, a not to be missed opportunity........all we need now is some XJS BB members to agree. :?

James, of course you are welcome, in any car!

I would have loved to go but its too long a round trip for me.

However, I seem to remember several members wanting more Northerly events so I hope they will support it.

Hi Tony,

I know I don't have an XJS, but would love to tag along (seeing as I live so close to Oulton Park!)
if that's ok

Steve

You will be very welcome! As a local maybe you could suggest somewhere nearby to meet, hand out tickets etc? Requirements: must be open for coffee am before the entry time on the day, have a good car park and be within ten miles. Hint, we like country house hotels :D

So far three including myself, you and James, no XJS owners........could be an interesting car park!
...well, you can lead a horse to water.......

.....only joking guys! I know it's a way off into the future and everyone is very busy. I'm confident that as the upcoming weeks unfold we will get some great support from the XJS BB members, especially those who live in the northern part of our country.

sounds like it will be a good day out :D

and very generous for them to invite the group

unfortunately its not possible for me to attend this one for various reasons, and i already have a Williams factory tour during the british F1 GP weekend this year, and a visit to Marussia organised this summer

whoever manages to attend i wish them a good day

Tony,

I'm sure if you ask Brian to get something in the mag for the next 3 months you could get more xjs iwners than just the minority who use the BB.

Hi Tony

We always look forward to a run out to meet up with fellow enthusiasts, unfortunately this date clashes with the week of our wedding anniversary, so I dare not mention a jaguar meet up.

Wish you a good day out and hope that there is a good turn out.

We look forward to future events.

    Tony,

What time do you want to converge for morning coffee? Then I will enquire who is accommodating enough for us!

    Cheers,
    Steve.

    Hi Paul
Point taken, but these meets have always been for BB members who would otherwise be anonymous to get to know each other face to face. I'm sure if the Forum Co-ordinaters want to organise Forum meets in future then they will do so. Having said that I take your point, once again interest is low, let alone commitment.
Maybe it's time for me to hang up my XJS BB Events hat and concentrate on things from Stuttgart, Pistonheads, Charity Events, and so on.....shame, but as I've said before you can lead a horse to water........

Tony, don't be too downhearted. I think the whole XJS ownership in general has changed over the years and its difficult to please everyone all the time wherever they live.

I'm very lucky to live near Portsmouth who have a great Regional team headed by Mike K but I rarely join in due to a combination of rarely having a free Monday (when they meet) and not really being a pub type person. It doesn't mean I don't appreciate all the hard work that goes into arranging these things, it just isn't for me.
