Gents
can anybody advise a garage that is capable willing to press new ball joints into my upper wishbone and lower suspension arm - the lower one being the more difficult because of the angle it is set at - I am in Kent - failing that does anybody know where I can obtain reasonable refurbed units - I looked at EBay and it seems they have nothing on offer
Any Help greatly appreciated
Cheers
Ian

Re: Ball Joints
Hello ihouston,
Last year the nearside upper balljoint failed, this was spotted by Guy Salmon in Maidstone during a free inspection, there were no symptoms driving the car and it passed its MoT no problems. Guy Salmon quoted £500 plus to replace.
I had a go at replacing the balljoint and got nowhere, so asked a few friends and they suggested, don't laugh now, the fleet maintance depot of Arrow taxis in Ashford. I went there and after a bit of work it became clear that the balljoint had failed so badly that the car was not safe to drive. I left it with them overnight and collected it the next day.
Supply and fit came to £45, I gave the bloke a good tip as he had saved me a fortune. It turns out that the ball joint on Mercedes E class cars (the cars Arrow uses) are very similar and the tool they use fit a treat.
Worth an ask perhaps.
