An interesting site of historical aerial photos.
Look up your area on http://www.britainfromabove.org.uk/

I was recently looking at Coventry, its amazing the number of vehicle factories around back then.

Good site pop rivet.

By contrast Kent had loads of cement factories and paper sites. Mainly industrial sites unless its the way I'm searching.

From a bit of googling and research are these the Coventry Swallow (Jaguar) factory (ies)? I can see references to a Swallow Road, Holbrook Foleshill factory in Coventry being sold to Dunlop in 1952 and the current image google maps image shows Dunlop still there I believe (or a Dunlop social sports/club). Swallow Road looks like a private road within the site.

The photos searched by going into options and homing in on the map.

They are referenced Standard Swallow Motor Works and Dunlop Rim and Wheel Co Works.... in 1937 (but as Dunlop had a nearby site back in 1939 and bought the adjoining site it makes sense). Homing in the Britainfromabove site Whitmore Park is the correct location. Was this the assemby plant in 1937? (As have seen references to Standard Motor Co making engines and
chassis in the 1930s for the cars. Seems to be a Triumph factory nearby aswell but don't believe that was part of SMC at that time).

Not sure which is which in photographs as factories both side of Swallow Road. Are there any better photos.
