Did X308 ever come in a darker green than BRG?

Postby blackflash » Tue Oct 22, 2013 10:57 pm

I'm talking to someone about moving back from S-Type R to XJR (yes, BB, you were right I will be back). He has sent me a photo of a car described as British Racing Green but (and there is another car in the background so I don't think it's just the light) it looks darker than BRG to me - more like what Rover used to call Arden Green on the R75. I'm not generally a fan of BRG but this car looks v nice.

Can anyone enlighten me please?

Many thanks,

Nigel

My '97 XJ8 was in "Brooklands Green". I think it's what people generally assumed was intended to be BRG. It was quite a dark colour, verging on black in some lights. I quite liked it, though it showed the dirt easily. (My current '08 XJ is "Botanical Green", an opalescent version that's even darker, and often mistaken for black.)

Great stuff. Many thanks Paul, that's the green I like and I now have a name for it!
