Does anyone know of a source for an XJS trip computer as shown on Clive's entry - DAC 7361 seems to be the part number; surrounding veneer would also be needed. I have decided to put one in my 1994 XJS if available at modest cost. I just had a tussle with the 'check engine' light, now hopefully cured by Chris Isle, but he had to poke about for hours to find the problem which turned out to be a sensor. He removed a computer from another car as a check, found that his diagnosis was correct and also another fault code. Seems that the computer is a cheaper and quicker way to find out what is wrong rather than doing it the hard way.

Paul - I bought a trip computer for my Celebration a few weeks ago on eBay. It was new/old stock and cost me £150. There don't appear to be any listed at the moment but its worth keeping an eye out.
I got the veneer from Graham at Grublogger for £25. He does sometimes have computers from cars he's breaking but not often as they're quite rare.
Hope that helps

You are right Paul - it was all a bit of fun but, one can't argue with the facts! It also spurred on the quest to maximise each gallon in several other members which can't be a bad thing. For me, the real point was the extra mileage compared to normal running which can only be due to the conditions in Holland on the day - no cheating either! What I'd like next is to push the normal MPG in the right direction. Anybody got any thoughts?

davidr - sadly all sold now. There were 7 available new old stock in original packaging, so I missed out. Please bear me in mind if you see any more. I could offer the clock and perfect walnut veneer in partex.
