Couple of minor issues to resolve

Postby kcv250 » Sun Sep 23, 2012 5:00 pm

Hello all
I bought my 07 plate XKR in April this year and have no real problems but do have a couple of things that I would like to resolve.
1. Whenever I start the car up it scans through the radio channels and seems to select a signal that it wants, sometimes the station that was on when I turned the car off, more usually something else normally Radio 2. Does it normally scan or go to where it was left when last used?
2. My phone, a Samsung Galaxy 2, works well with the bluetooth and downloaded the address book OK but didn't list the names attached to the numbers, each number just has a squiggle or a letter against it.
Thanks for any help or tips to resolve these issues.

Hi,
It sounds like you need a small child to resolve these issues! These days, they are so much better at understanding entertainment technlogy than we oldies. :) Anyway, here are a couple of comments from an oldie.
The radio should simply turn on to the last station used. Have you saved your preferred programmes to 'buttons' or do you rely upon the scan function to seek out your local stations? I'm sure you need to store your preferred stations if you want the radio to retain the last station used and to behave 'normally'.
Your phone issue may have something to do with where your contacts are stored (phone internal memory or memory card). My phone works perfectly in my XK and displays names and numbers. However, the same phone doesn't behave the same way when the bluetooth connects to my wife's car (not a Jaguar) whereas a previous phone did. The only obvious difference is where the phone contacts are stored. Mike.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I've got all the radio presets in use with stations stored on them, if I touch the FM icon it will go to the station that I want but otherwise it just randomly selects a channel, as I said normally Radio 2 but thanks for your help.
