Hi
Recently Joined the JEC after picking up a 2000 XK8 and looking forward to getting some advice on keeping her in as good a condition as her previous owner..

thanks JDM, this is my second venture into owning a Jaguar, the first is a 54 x-type estate which i still have although i love the XK, and didnt really want to stop the 60 mile detour home after i picked her up.

Welcome to the Club and the Forum cp
You made a great choice in both your cars. I have one of the first X-types on the road (obtained it about 6 months before the first delivery to customers) and I still have it now, although it is my wife you generally drives it.
Its a 2.5ltr 4-wheel drive, manual gearbox model in Titanium Silver and has now done about 85000 miles. Still drives beautifully.
I also bought myself a 'retirement caravan'
- I mean an XK8, MY2000 coupe, about six-and-a-half years ago and it is an absolute joy to drive and to own. I have had all the common weaknesses rectified (tensioners, waterpump/thermostat, ABS-module, full gearbox overhaul at 100k miles and various other minor things).
We have been on a German/Alpine touring holiday every year so far and a trip down to the Algarve - a true GrandTouring car.
Enjoy your toy and safe motoring
