Hi Malc ,
Yes I'm 100% sure that Dave at High profile will supply and fit/balance if necessary the Dunlops , give him a ring and mention Nik from Beverley , he will look after you  , he specialises in fitting tyres to BBS wheels without marking them ,

Hope this helps ,

Nik

I suspect tyre availability problems will only get worse with age. The proliferation of sizes makes manufacturers reluctant to keep stocks of every variant. It's a good reason not to wait until the last minute before ordering replacements for worn tyres. Punctures pose another problem altogether! Mike.

I confess I get enough email without ticking the box so I can't comment on the effectiveness or otherwise of this bit of the system. Have you finished sledging down the Lincolnshire hills yet? I haven't seen your photos. After all that dirty weather, it'll be time to clean your cars for the new show season soon. Mike.

Hi John,

You and Tony are definitely on the same cleaning wavelength. As for Nigel, he's more of a powerwash man. Afraid the Buxton comment went over my head. Not sure what you mean. Mike.

Hi John,
You should know by now that any comments I or Nigel make are not from a concours viewpoint. The last time one of my cars won a concours prize was 1983!

Have a word with the webmaster to sort out your problem with the notifications. I don't have access to the nuts and bolts of the BB program. Mike.

I saw the comments about Kwik-fit. I would never use them. They messed up work on several company vehicles and the company refuses to use them again. I also want to replace rear tyres. I'm in West Berkshire and work in Basingstoke. The cheapest tyres are from Micheldever Tyres at £171.67 each. Does anyone know of a better price in the locality.

Hi,
A while ago i posted that i had switched my 20inch Pirelli's at the front for the Dunlop SP Sport Max, which I am very pleased with. I have had Pirelli's still on the back for the last year and have not noticed any handling problems. I am now changing the backs to Dunlops and have been looking at prices. The cheapest i can find for the 285 30 20 Dunlops is £149.95 plus delivery £9.95 - so £155 each. My local fitter will charge £18 each to fit and balance. Cheapest supply and fit in my area is £185 each, but I prefer to use this particular fitter (there price for supply and fit was £195. My local ATS wanted £285 each! I'm sourcing the tyres from RotationUK.

Re: New pirelli tyres Versus Sport Maxx

Postby Marcusw68 » Thu Feb 06, 2014 6:48 pm

Hello all and being reading the posts on the bulletin board with interest but most are from 2006. I just bought an XKR with Nexen 3000 on the rear which the former owner put on to trade his car in and I want them off like yesterday but I have P-Zero on the front with inside worn edges, so guess from other posts thats ball joints etc.

Bit debate is this Pirelli v Dunlop debate and as time has moved on for all, do we still rate the Sport Maxx over P Zero, especially with the J rating

Help welcomed as I want to buy new tyres
