XK8 XKR Powerfold Mirrors Problem

Postby cgclassics » Thu Dec 18, 2008 4:25 pm

The powerfold mirrors on my XKR 2002 year have stopped working. Were fine a few days ago. When I flick the switch I can hear a relay click, hold for a few moments and then release, but nothing happens and no motor sound. The mirror adjusting mechanism all works fine as does the steering wheel adjustment.

I can't see a fuse indication for the powerfold function, so wondering if anyone else has has this problem and sorted it before.

Thanks
Craig

Hi Craig ,
The powerfold option on your XK is controlled through the door modules , could be that your battery is on it's way out and the door modules require reprogramming :?: , depending where you are in the country, Kevin at DesignXKR would possibly sort you out with his WDS as the fault is almost certain to have logged a fault code ,

Best of luck ,

Hi - seemed to have fixed it - I came to the same conclusion last night that the door control modules were a good place to start based on the JTIS wiring diagram.

Also this morning when I got in the car the drivers seat was dead and the heated seat on that side didn't work.

So more in vain hope than anything else I removed the fuses one by one on the drivers side fascia fuse box, firstly to check they hadn't blown and secondly in case that reset anything. Hey presto once I did that everything worked - seat adjustment, powerfold, heated seats etc. So I guess I reset the door and seat control modules somehow. Window memory was all OK anyhow and I also have a brand new battery in the car.

Anyhow hope this helps others

Rgds
