Sat Nav DVD for Alpine system

Postby GMan » Wed Nov 07, 2007 7:45 pm

I can't believe that Jaguar have not produced a new DVD since 2004 for the Alpine system in the XKR? I spoke to the local dealer who insiste that the one I have is current. Does anyone have any more info on this?
Thanks

You are absolutely correct with your statement. I gather the Sat Nav device was changed and therefore no more updates were produced. I have the latest 2003 version and this is still available from Jag dealers, but the price is silly money. I got mine at a spares meeting.

Unbelievable! A superb motor vehicle with the worst sat nav on the market. I guess it is a good excuse so that I can get lost and drive the car more ;-)

Remember, the Sat Nav came out first in June 1999. It was one of the first in the market. It may not be brilliant compared with the Tom Tom's of today but I'm surprised how accurate it can be - even if it does take a while to set up.
