Fuel troubles

Well it seems that Jaguars (well Fords in general) were immune to the Tesco fuel additive. My local dealer is next door to a Tesco and uses them for all their cars with no troubles, while my wife's Renault (which I happened to fill up one day at Tescos - so it is all my fault) was one of about 30 or so waiting to be fixed by the local dealer. In the process it became a TV star as our O2 Detector was the one they used on breakfast TV :o .
What I really wanted to add to this thread was an incident that occurred earlier this week to my XK8. The amber engine warning light came on and refused to go out after switching off. The handbook is a bit inscrutable on the meaning of this light - No priority, No message, but go and see your dealer asap. Anyway the dealer had a look and the code said lean mixture on bank 1, which I think meant that four cylinders were running lean. The same evening the warning light had switched off after I filled with fuel (non-Tesco) and there has been no recurrence. The dealer suggested possibly dirty fuel as a cause.

Whoops, somehow this ended up as a new thead. It was supposed to be a reply to the petrol/diesel debate but the computer said no when I pressed the submit button. THen it took matters into its own hands and did it this way :(
