Well I was doing 135 down the Mulsanne Straight

........ but I was on a motorbike
We had just come through LeMans having stopped for lunch and when I realized where we were I just couldn't resist ripping the throttle open
Another memorable moment (again on the bike) was getting diverted off the main road just outside Reims and finding ourselves on the pit straight of the old Reims Grand Prix circuit , complete with grandstands, pit boxes and score board all looking sadly dilapidated

What Bike?
Hi Bassman,
I know it's the XK forum but I can't help asking - what have you got? Mine's a Triumph Sprint ST 1050. It's a bit lardy after a sportsbike and the pipes roast your backside but it does go! It's worst feature is a memory on the computer read out so you can recall top speed obtained. Ooh, did I really do that? Luckily it has a reset (which seems to get a lot more use than it should)! Aren't bikes grand? Very similar grin factor to the cat but not quite the same "joy of ownership".
Mike.

Hi Mike, I have a Kwacka ZZR1100 at the mo' have had it errrr 12 years
but it may be getting swapped next year, the other half has a Thundercat and a Bandit 600
My mate has a T595 and I think he is fancying a Sprint as the riding position on the 595 isn't doing his dodgy shoulder any good(old age rushing up on us all
)
Love bikes but don't ride so much these days
we used to tour round Europe every year but we recently bought a house in Brittany and have been doing it up for the last year, so all our spare time is spent there and it's a bit tricky carrying kitchens and bathroom suites on bikes
