Wiring Diagrams

Postby steveww » Mon May 10, 2010 8:10 pm

I have the workshop manual which includes an appendix for later cars >1992. For the electrical section the manual mentions that separate electric guides must be referred to for each model year.

Is it possible to get these guides? If so from where?

steveww,

Are you referring to the standard Parts & Service Manual CD-Rom for the 4 litre cars? If so, the only realy difference is that there is a separate section for all the wiring diagrams for 1995.25 MY onwards, although many of the circuits are identical to earlier year cars.

The wiring diagrams are in the Service Manual & Supplements under "Circuit Diagrams & Wiring Harnesses".

Get back to me if you've still got troubles finding this section.

Yes, the individual year guides are on the XJS supplement CD, JHM 1123.

There are separate guides for 88, 89, then 90 and 91 are in one volume, 92, 93 are separate, then from 94 on the 4.0ltr and 6.0 ltr have separate guides each year. I haven't done a side by side comparison but there are quite a few differences as the changes were coming thick and fast by then and each year runs out to 40+ pages. Things like the introduction of the shift interlock, the security system, the change in air con unit, the AJ16 engine all contributed to the process at different points.

This is what I was looking for. Can I get this from Jaguar Classic parts?

steveww,

Apols, I thought you were just after the wiring diagram for your own 1996 car which is, as I mentioned, on the 4 litre CD-Rom and the final wiring diagram for 1995.25 MY cars has only a few changes from the previous years diagram (both aof which are on the CD-Rom). That CD-Rom is, I assume, the one that you have, JHM 1143.

However, if you do want the various diagrams from the late 1980s then, as Al has indicated, you need the XJS Supplementary Information CD-Rom.

It's not sold by Jaguar Classic Parts but you can purchase the CD-Roms online from Jaguar Heritage. Look here:

http://www.jdht.com/JDHT/html/TrustFrames.html

and go to "Technical Publications"

The XJS Supplementary Information doesn't seem to be advertised at present. Try ringing them on 02476-401231
