"A" pillar material- same as headlining?

Postby stuart27 » Sun Dec 27, 2009 4:59 pm

Hi Folks

I will be putting in a new headlining soon and was wondering if the A pillars should be covered with the headlining material?

My interior is grey, but strangely, the A pillar looks to be covered in a beige leather. It looks a bit out of place, especially when the central and C pillars are covered in the headlining material. The leather of the A pillars have a couple of visible screws attaching them to the interior....is this the norm?

Would appreciate it if anyone can clarify.

Many thanks

Stuart

the interior A pillar trim is vinyl , and is supposed to have the two exposed chrome screws along with two chrome screw cups

however

i agree that it would look good if trimmed in the same material as the cant-rails and other pillar trims

I think I will be doing the same with mine at some point this year. Someone repaird the headlining on our XJS with woodchip wall paper! looks horid but it is remarkably solid!

Will put a thin sheet of foam then some cloth material over it, but the idea of covering the A posts sounds good
