took it in to Jaguar (H A Fox Cheltenham) today to be plugged into the diagnostic computer. and was treated very well for a short notice booking
mixed news....
four codes were thrown ,
P0135
P0155
P1647
P1646
these all relate to the A and B bank upstream O2 sensors, intermittent fault , but more precisely , the heaters in the sensors... but does not distinguish between the banks, so could be either ( or both ) side,
but the real time diagnostics showed all the O2 sensors working fine at the time....
the Cats have also been proved good so far( monitored by the downstream sensors ), and no other faults have been registered on the ECU , the car is also in otherwise great condition
they spent half an hour on the car ( £50 ) and say they possibly need another hour to trace the fault, as they think its a dodgy connector and or wiring fault, but it was the end of the day and i couldnt leave the car with them...
so its booked in for one more hour on friday to see if i can get lucky and they can find any faults, after that , who knows for now, lol
so , i get home and drag out the schematic diagrams for my car on the Mac, i can see that the heaters in the lambda sensors are controlled by relay in the front passenger footwell, this is fed by wire 82 ( NG ) from fuse 11 ( 30a ) in the engine management fuse box in the engine bay , the relay is activated by wire
so i will be out looking at these bits just to see if its a simple fuse or relay causing the trouble, after that i will pull the relevant connectors apart for inspection and cleaning...
