Hi ,Can anyone tell me the correct way round to fit the rear fulcrum bolt washers (steel & nylon) i had to use heat to remove the bolt and didn't notice how they were fitted. They don't make sense to me either way and workshop manual doesn't show and i can't find anything in the usual places.
Thanks Rob

Re: Rear Wishbone
Is the car an XK8 or an XK? Front or rear, upper or lower wishbones would also help to ensure you get the best advice. Mike.

Rob - does this image from Jaguar Classic Parts help? Part number 5 is the washer you gave the part number for.

Re: Rear Wishbone
Very helpfully, the workshop manual says, 'Ensure the correct orientation of the flat sided washers'. However, logic suggests that the plastic washers are probably there to keep water and dirt out of the wishbone bushings so, in the absence of more definitive information, I'd fit them that way around. Mike.

Re: Rear Wishbone
Hi Mike.yes i agree with you and that is the way I've fitted them but the nylon washers just float around and seem to serve no purpose. That is why i am confused, all logic and looking at the remains of the old parts seem to indicate that is the way round but when fitted they just don't look right.
Many Thanks

Re: Rear Wishbone
The final word on this is that the nylon washers face the bushing.David Marks has kindly checked on several cars for me and can confirm this. Thanks again for everyones help with this matter.
