Remove ECM witrh tamper-proof screws

Postby jeccles2 » Fri Jul 09, 2021 6:42 pm

Hi All,
Has anyone had occasion to remove the ECM? I need to gain access to the EM10 connector to check connectivity with the ABS/TCCM unit due to a persistemt Stability Control Fail/Traction Control Fail dash message with Red and Amber lights. The ECM is held in by four tamper-proof screws which I have manged to remove with much effort but the connectors are all covered by a protective plate held in with a further eight T-P screws which are proving difficult to remove.

Any experience or advice I can call on?

Assuming your style of tamper proof screw is the Torx type with centre pin, the special tools for these are remarkably easy to obtain and cheap too :D
Just Google ''tamperproof torx set'' or put that straight into Ebay.
