S Type 2005 (55) Restricted performance

Postby dennyboy » Sun Nov 08, 2015 4:52 pm

Hi I have had a few problem with my DPF filter I have had it replaced with a new one under garage warranty but still had a red light come on with DPF full so took it to another garage who diagnosed the pipes were on the wrong way this has been sorted but now I have a restricted performance Amber light come on and the car won't go over 2500 revs so reduced speed does anyone have any idea how to sort this.
Thanks Dennis

agreed, a proper scan first , use someone with Autologic, Jaguar SDD, rather then a generic hand held cheaper style scanner, to get the best results

There are some poppet type valves on the engine which can deteriorate and cause vacuum to be lost and also there is a turbo actuator unit on each turbo charger which has been known to have problems.

Regret I`m not a diesel man so my knowledge is rather limited.

A trip to the garage should hopefully find your issue. Hope all goes well.
