Winter Boredom!

I was a bit bored, so I thought I might make another grill for 'Red' !
I cut the centre section out and enlarged the height of the opening by a few millimetres top and bottom.

It should look quite smart at night!!
I will not be fitting it yet as there are a few areas that need touching up , when the weather is a bit warmer.

Hey, I like that. I've got a spare chrome grill, I think I'll have a go at that at work, where did you get the Stainless - Steel mesh? I think I'll put a matching (Proper-Jaguar) wheel centre in the middle of mine.

He is my mod on an X350 with 70mm ebay sourced growler badge. It is a bit of a take on the later X358 grill.

The grill on the X350 is glass fibre so machines well. I made a circular plinth from e-glass and epoxy cast inside a Holts spray can lid. Removed from the lid, it was then cut it to profile with a Dremel type unit with a miniature cutting disc.The plinth was then epoxied to the grill surround and blended in with an epoxy/easy sand filler powder. A bit of blending to profile with glass paper gave the basis of the job followed by four coats of primer, a flat down and five coats of matching spray paint. Once dry, it was wet flatted with P1200 W&D paper and polished up with G3. That done, the badge was stuck to the finished grill surround with car number plate adhesive tape.
