Some months ago I replaced the upper & lower bushes in the steering column on my 1962 Mk2 - I've only just realised that the horn no longer works. There is max resistance between the wire on the horn push and the boss so I'm guessing the connection is broken at the ring at the lower end of the column. Question is, has the column got to come apart again to sort this or can something be done with it all in situ? It's difficult to see the fitment on the column and backbreaking to get to it.
If I take the column apart, is there a trick to making sure the connection goes back in place correctly?

Re: Horn vs steering column
Hello Mr Breeze,
I seem to remember there is a conducting ring and a bush at the bottom of the column, I would have a look there first as it may have been disturbed?
