....I am seriously considering selling my S-Type. She is a 1999 V6 3.0L in Alpine Green. Stock car that has not been messed about with, only looked after with full service history from new at Jaguar dealership and then 1st class independent JagTech in Eastbourne, with the same technicians that serviced her at Jaguar!
I am only thinking of selling as I may need to fund a van or small car for work and I dont want miles and mess ruining the Jaguar, its too good for that. Car is in South East near Eastbourne. Before I get serious about selling and hit eBay, I would like to know if there is any interest amongst Club members first. PM for more details if you are interested.
NOW SOLD

Re: With Regret....
A bit of a rash move?
How much does a decent van and necessaries cost? £1K should get that sorted and you could then keep the S for pleasure!
Always several ways to overcome a problem.

Re: With Regret....
£1k? That'd only be buying trouble! No, sadly I cannot afford to run three cars (my wife has another). Not sure it will be a van yet, might just be something smaller, but if changes I am hoping for come off, caning this car whilst economically a good idea, I just can't do it, its too nice.

Re: With Regret....
I have widened the advertising a little to other forums but before I put her on eBay or advertise more generally, is there really no interest from within the Club itself? Would much prefer to see her go to a Club member/enthusiast....? I am looking for offers in very close region to £1950.
Re: With Regret....
Response from these Bulletin Boards will perhaps be somewhat limited as only a small proportion of members regularly use this Club facility.
You would reach a wider audience by placing an ad on our Jag Classified section. You will need to log out the access the section via the list on the Club home page.
http://www.jaguarclassifieds.org.uk/
You can also advertise in the Club magazine but be aware of publication cut off dates.
If you need a fast sale, then eBay or Autotrader might be your best option.
It is also worth printing out an A4 sheet advert and fixing that in the car. I`ve sold a couple of cars that way quite easily. Placing the car in a prominent location is worth consideration.
Elderly cars are not easy to sell for decent money. There are so many available and buying new or newer is highly attractive to people. There are so many good deals to be had at dealers. Prepare for tyre kickers, hole pickers and offers well below the advertised price. Sadly that is the nature of the car sales game. An object is only worth what someone is willing to offer at that point in time. The same goes for boat sales which I frequently become involved with.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info, sadly its not the first car I've sold and I am prepared for the hassle as much as one can be.

Re: With Regret....
Last chance for Club members to secure this car. I have it on a short eBay auction until Wednesday, see here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191246195858? ... 1555.l2649
If any CLUB member is interested in buying this car and can pay and collect by Thursday evening latest, I will be happy to see this car go for £1200 to Club members and I will throw in a lot of Jaguar related items as well. If not sold, the car will be traded in under 'scrappage'.
