Hi
I am trying to remove the rear seat back from my 1996 Coupe and while the seat base has come out OK, the back is proving a challenge and I don't want to apply too much brute force in case I break something...
I have removed the 2 screws at the base and it has unclipped from the 2 clips at the top, but I cannot lift it up more than about an inch - is there something else I need to remove - it looks like something may be catching each side under the armrests?
I have removed the 2 rear side panels that contain the courtesy lights to give me more space, so they don't seem to be the problem.
Thanks
Steve

From memory, you've removed all the fastenings. It should move up and then free itself although it is a fairly snug fit. It certainly is the case on the convertible.
Have you looked in the workshop manual to see if there's any other fastenings mentioned?

Also from memory.....
.......does it require a shove in an upward direction before pulling forwardsI seem to remember it hooks over a lip on the rear parcel shelf......or am I confusing it with the door cards

Re: Removing rear seat back from 1996 Celebration?
I think that when I removed the rear seat from my Celebration convertible it was a case of unscrewing the fixings at the bottom (one each side) then pulling the seat upwards to take it off the clips at the the back and raise it above where the seat back fits over the top of the metal bulkhead. Then it pulls out.
However, the coupe may be different but my earlier V12 coupe works on a similar principle to my convertible.
Perhaps it's getting caught on the seatbelt somehow?

Re: Removing rear seat back from 1996 Celebration?
Definitely removed all the fastenings - I think it must just be a snug fit as I can move it up around an inch. I checked the manual and it shows pre-facelift version, where the side trim and arm rest are different. Will have another go at the weekend.
