Convertible Hood Cover

I wonder of anyone can help me identify a convertible hood cover that I've acquired.

My own hood cover (95 model) has S-shaped hooks which hook onto long eyelets on the hood itself, plus two press-studs each side, plus a couple of other press studs on the flap which covers the rear "shelf".

The one that I've acquired is almost an identical shape but has fabric eyelets only and does not have any press studs on the forward "ears" of the hood cover. Is it from an early convertible and also how does one attach the the front "ears" onto the body? If anyone's got any photos of an early convertible cover, that would be really helpful.
