Paint Code MDX OR MDZ?

My car was registered in Sept 2000 cant find the paint code, the car is bright silver , MDZ seem to be the silver from 2000 onwards and MDX the silver from 1998, any ideas?

I can confirm that certainly in the case of S-types built during the periods you mention, there was a change to silver paint shades used. Side by side the colours are markedly different.

MDZ is the code used on my October 01 built car, ex Castle Bromwich.

I know this doesn`t directly answer your question in regard to a 308 but just throw this in to show that there were certainly paint shade changes at Jaguar at that time.

I would perhaps suggest that MDX being alphabetically before MDZ, might indeed be the earlier colour commonly in use at the time. No doubt someone else can confirm shortly.

Your metal car spec plate riveted (I know not where on a 308) to your car would have the paint code stamped into it. That should confirm the colour of your car.

paint code should be on the front slam panel, the panel betwwen the headlights as you open the bonnet, there will be a label stuck on there with all the trim, paint and vin info you need

The lable has worn away so cant read the code! i think its the later MDZ
