Register Information LHD / RHD **

I just had a look through the register over 180 already thats a great response for a couple of weeks

I did notice however that a lot of RHD cars are being listed as LHD cars
( you can tell from the serial number the ninth character along of the full VIN No ( number with two letters each side of it) designates how the car was shipped 3 means its a RHD Auto, 4 means its a LHD Auto, 7 means its a RHD Manual and 8 means its a LHD Manual)
When I listed my car I made the same mistake, the dot was in the LHD circle as a default and I didnt notice it and had to go back and change, perhaps others who have made the same mistake might want to correct theirs as well to make the info as accurate as possible, as it stands it looks like there are an awfull lot of LHD XJS cars in the UK

Webman
you've done a great job on the forum, its starting to pick up nicely for only two weeks on line.
dont know if it possible or not, but could you remove the default setting in the regristration box that way people registering their car would have to enter which type they have ( LHD or RHD) and if nothing was entered it would let them know same as it does with other entries that are required

I could also send you a document ( JPG or PDF) which explains the vin codes maybe you could have this on the "models" page as a bit of general info

Mea Culpa

Oops! It is all my fault. I had set the default Spec. setting to RHD which seemed like a good idea for a UK based forum.

Unfortunately, both 'checkboxes' where set to LHD. For those bright souls who had the good sense to edit what they had entered, they would have seen the error, thought it was a slip on their part, and corrected it.

The edit form was as it should have been. When it is quiet and I've got some more Aspirins, I'll take the register off-line and amend those entries I can. I will probably put a note to say check your entry.

Sorry chaps...

I nearly fell for the LHD/RHD too. Was reviewing the register after submitting my kitty and thought  I didn't put LHD. Quick edit and it reads better :)

The register is coming along nicely! As new ones are added on the bottom of the list it is starting to become a little difficult to analyse. I found that it's easy to copy and paste into a spreadsheet where the info can be easily sorted into whatever catagory you please. For instance, last time I looked :
49.8% = 5.3 litre
23.4% = 4.0
18.5% = 3.6
8.3% = 6.0
