Hi, looking to replace the terrible 80s unit fitted into my coupe. Does anyone have an original stereo in a 1970s series 2 coupe or saloon and could advise me what the model is to fit something similar ?
thanks

Is it the appearance of your 80s radio that's bothering you?
I ask because the Philips units fitted in the UK, were AM only, cassette tape players and their performance is now pretty dire.
Different units were fitted depending on market (US were not the same as UK.)
The facia plate in the car has sometimes been butchered to fit the more modern radios and if you want to go back to the authentic 70s look you may need to source one of these (the knob spindles actually came through the plate.)

If it's of interest I'll dig out the model details when I get home this evening.
