Does anybody know where I can get a security module checked and refurbished?

Hi Maximus ,

Don't know where you are in the country but you would need the module interrogated by a Jaguar WDS or IDS machine to check it's integrity ( possibly Autologic?) , normally only found at main agents but specialists such as DesignXKR in Andover have a WDS and will be very helpful , ask for Kevin or Soraya and tell them Nik recommended you ,

If you are certain that the module has collapsed, here might be one alternative solution. Ouch!

Some re programming would appear to be required after installation.

That however is only one seller. Might be worth doing some hunting around via sources such as Eurojag to see what others are selling used servicable modules for. I can understand you wanting to have your module overhauled if economic.

As Nik says, best to have the car interrogated first to assure yourself that you do have a problem with the installed module.

Thanks for the help. I managed to get my hands ona second hand unit and everything is now working, but I would like to get the old unit fixed as a spare. I will give Design xkr a call

Did the security module just swap over without any reprogramming

I thought they needed pairing to the ECU ,

I got the identical module and part number and all had to do was programme the fobs. It is all working now. Could I just be lucky?
