X300 CLOCK ILLUMINATION

Can anyone help, we all know that X300 clocks fail on a regualr basis, well, I have found a guy who repairs them and give a 6 month warranty to boot, he has done about six for me now and I have been 100% happy

however he has contacted me this morning to say a customer has complained that his repaired clock will not dim down when the headlights are switched on

should this in fact happen at all??, I know aircon and radio displays dim down, but should the clock display to the same??

answers here or on a postcard please!!

answering my own question now!, the clock is supposed to dim when the lights are on
