anyone knoe thge correct paint and where to get it for an S2 4.2 1970 car or even if it shoudl be painted - does not appear that there has been any on mine but I guess it could have been removed over the last 39 years.
Note, car is LHD if that makes any difference.

Cylinder head paint
Mark,
If look 4 posts down from yours I answered this question for someone else but here it is again:
The company who used to supply the original gold head paint is still in business so try them and see how you get on.
http://www.bradite.com/
I'm not sure your head was painted, try looking through some of the S2 cars on www.xkedata.com search for cars near your VIN and see if there are any shots of engines.

Re: Cylinder head paint
I went through this process this week to find that Bradite no longer produce this engine enamel. However, they pointed me in the direction of HMG Paints in Manchester (0161 205 7631) who supply the correct paint and also pointed me to HMG Coatings (South) in Andover (01264 356296) who do likewise.
Apparently, the correct paint is C71 Jaguar Harvest Gold and is £15 plus VAT for 1 Litre. I picked up a tin yesterday from the Andover stockist and applied it yesterday evening. The results are excellent.
