heated windscreens

Would anyone be interested in a fine filament heated front screen for their S1 2+2, they have been manufactured already for various other models, but not the S1 2+2, I have access to a manufacturer but i need a minimum of 10 firm orders before the mould can be made. It will be moulded from an original screen (which is sacrificed) not a repro! will draw roughly 18 amps when on and will clear all or either selectable side of a misted screen in approx 15 secs. (Depending upon your switching and wiring setup)
It will retail at roughly 300 pounds plus delivery, they are currently in use on several FHC and DHC racers on the historic circuit and is the only way to clear a misted screen quickly and entirely. Its the only way to ensure your car is fully useable all year round come rain or shine

This is a private venture, not undertaken for suppliers, reply by email if you can, I need intent to purchase before I shell out for the 10 screens.

Just think of a clear screen on a cold rainy day! screens are already available for FHC and DHC S1's with other models on the way. Fine filament rear hatch screens are also currently being considered.

Mike,

mine is an S2 OTS so would not fit ,but if you did them for this I would buy one. You said that these were being made already for other models, do you have any details?

I used to have a Ford Scorpio when it was new and it had a heated front screen, absoluetly fantastic and I still miss it now, even by 2 year old SAAB 9-5 does not have one - dont understand why other manufacturers dont do them.

If you are looking for a heated front screen for a S1/2 Roadster, Coupe or Low Drag Coupe, call 07900 881877 I make them! they work well and the heating elements are virtually impossible to see - even supplied one for a concours car.

Out of interest chaps I think the reason you don't see more cars with heated front screens is probably something to do with Ford patents or intellectual property, which is why you only see them on Ford group cars. Could be wrong but it seems plausible.

How they come to be fitted in aftermarket windscreens, I don't know. maybe they have bought a licence to use the technology.

Perhaps I should consider one in my Series 1 3.8 for which I am desperate to find a Sundym 'screen, preferably original as it is more likely to fit. Not sure about having an out of place switch on the dash though.
