Hello, help please! I was about to ease into a traffic queue today in my 'brand new' Daimler V8 2002, but nothing seemed to happen when I gently depressed the accelerator. Just as I was about to see if I had left the car in neutral (not possible as I had just done a complete lap of the local petrol station without stopping) there occurred an almighty 'clunk' and the car lurched forward. I thought that I had perhaps been hit from behind, but no. The display showed 'gearbox fault' ! I stopped the car, and turned off the igniton, waited a minute or so then restarted it - everything perfect!
Reading the posts on gearbox failures and oil changes, I became worried. The car has done 62k now (60k seems to be a significant milepost if I read the correspondence correctly). The car came with a 3 month warranty, so if anyone can advise me on what the problem might be I would be grateful.
Thanks.
Ray

a GEARBOX CLUNK
Ray as it has got a 3 months warranty dont touch it, dont let anyone else touch it.........take it back and report the problem big style.....even if it seems to be now ok...........once reported as a fault within the warranty it is regarded as an inherent fault..........dont leave it too long....HNY Joe
