good value tyres

just got a price for my pzeros for my sport 255/40 r 18 here in ireland in "advance tyres"...equiv of kwik fit in uk FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY EURO PER TYRE!!!(about 310 sterling pounds)
i have credit card so will purchase at the best value either in northern ireland or uk...doesnt have to be pirellis ..other suggestions welcome...(what about new kid on block-"veredesteins"???
please help

I bought 4 Dunlop 225/60 W 16 D8Z's for mine and paid a total of £321 (inc. VAT) including balancing for the lot. They seem fine for my type of driving. Only about 5k a year.

Shorty, re Veredesteins a lot of eally good reports re these tyres, and they now do scheme through the JEC where as a member you get a good discount 25% i think...........Joe

Remembering from the recent x 308 seminar I think it was Dave Marks that mentioned that in the U.S they put Bridgestones on their cars as they are quieter than the Pirelli's. I assume they must be a softer compound but if you are only doing a low mileage it might be worth considering.

hey thanks for reply ..have managed to locate pirellis p zeros on some good websites(etyres.co.uk) for about 145 pounds each ...a lot better than 310 pounds!!!
but will these websites give me the 25% "jec vredestein" discount?? like a normal local supplier??
if so that makes them more affordable!! about 450 sterling for four!! rather than 1240 sterling pounds on my doorstep here on the south coast of ireland!!
its not that ireland is outlandishly expensive; rather that there is no competition here for Jaguar service/parts i.e. no independent jag garages to talk of .....and up until recently ,only one main dealer in the republic of ireland!!! talk about a captive audience or what!!!

Colin make sure you have the correct rating for your particular model..Z or ZR..you drive a performance vehicle......in any accident the wrong rating means no insurance..............Joe.

Would you believe ive finally got round to fitting the asemetrico tyres...
31-03-2009........it took ages for the P6000 s to wear down.
Fitted all round,balanced valves and tracking by laser all done inc vat
£107.55.........couldnt believe the wieght of the tyres without the wheels some solid product tyres these days...........runs like a new car again......

I have been looking at tyre prices for my odd sized 17 inch SOLAR wheels. 235-50-17 ....evidently Vredestine, Dunlop,and a few more companys don't even make them in that size, I am running on P ZERO Essemetrico tyres right now but I'm not too overjoyed with them.....after weighing the remaining options up I'm now thinking down the Continental route, they seem on paper to be the best option, Any experiences with these tyres anyone...... :
