June Octane mag has a piece about the XJS on page 156 where it is described as 'a car on the cusp and now is the time to buy', also 'a car out of its time: a glamorous Riviera Grand Tourer for an age of leisure thrust into a grasping GTi world that had no time for lunch', and' one of the great Jaguars'.
This is the first time I have seen any reference it in this excellent mag which is however rather slanted towards big money, collectors, 100 point concours cars and machines with bona-fide racing histories in which you can (perhaps) do it like Stirling at Classic Le Mans and the Mille Miglia.
Should we be pleased or saddened that values may 'take off' and we will be swept into that manic world?
Meanwhile the sun is out, the forecast good, and tomorrow I shall be doing a tour of the delightful Lincolnshire Wolds, so I intend to make the most of mine before the EU pass an edict that I am too old to have a licence any more.

IMHO I think it is good that the XJS is starting to be recognised as one of the great Jaguars.
I have been hearing mutterings from various quarters that the XJS is on the cusp of greatness. There are less and less "old bangers" of the XJS around now and those that are left are well loved examples, this can only push up the models image. There was a fine selection on the London to Brighton run at the weekend.
