Aaah - booked my car in with Jagutek in Ely for its yearly inspection and MoT today.
Not such good news - one broken spring, new discs and pads all round and a leaking fuel pipe at the back end, right above the rear suspension cage.
Unfortunately the front springs aren't available from Jag any more but Kev at Jagutek has managed to track down original-spec springs from a company who used to supply them to Jaguar and they weren't even that expensive either. Thank goodness.
Could have been a lot worse but I think I'm likely to be on the receiving end of a large bill next week nonetheless!
Also - I think my car has got it in for me because in the last 6 months it's had no fast idle at all - I posted it on here and the consensus was that it was probably a blocked Auxilliary Air Valve. So when I wrote a list of stuff for Jagutek to inspect I added it before sealing the envelope with the keys inside, to be dropped through their letterbox on Sunday afternoon. So imagine my surprise when, after 6 months, when I was starting it to take it off to Ely, it started working again perfectly... D'oh. It'll probably break again as soon as I get it home!

MoT Doom and Gloom....
not good news but not so bad
the fuel pipes are a real pita to get hold of, as Jag dont sell them anymore, the good news is there is someone on ebay selling both the nearside and offside over axle rear fuel pipes , and they are original NOS , and at £40 each , are well cheap,
i had to import mine into the UK last year before i put my rear cage back in
front springs are available from the likes of SNG Barrat or Martin Robey
good luck

MoT Doom and Gloom....
Hi BB,
Cheers for the reply!
Funnily enough I'm feeling really guilty for not fixing this myself but I've got my other car in bits so sort of need the XJS - and it needs to be ready for the spring outing so it's best they fix it quickly...
Just a couple of questions about the fuel pipes:
LH one
RH one
Firstly, do you know which one's the return pipe?
Secondly, are the V-12 ones the same as the 6-cyl ones? If so which ones are these?!
Cheers!!!

MoT Doom and Gloom....
you have them marked up correctly , and as far as i know, the pipes are the same, but will check my part manual now for you...
the return is on the nearside, as the pump pushes the fuel out on the off-side into the near-side wheel well and up over the cage along with the vacuum pipe for the ecm unit ( in the V12 )
if you look under your nearside back wheel arch behind the wheel, you will see the loop of the fuel pipe going into the body of the car with a union , the steep parts of the pipe rot away as they never see any anti corrosion, and catch all the road grime ,
if one side is gone, i can guarantee the other side will be just as bad, but thats up to you and your wallet
HOLD THE PRESS
yes, the 3.6 supply and return pipes are different, scrub the parts you have seen on ebay
sorry for any confusion, i'm focused on the V12 , lol

MoT Doom and Gloom....
I got the car back yesterday and am very pleased with how it's turned out.
It needed:
New Front Road Springs
New Front Discs and Pads
New Return Fuel Line
-and lots of small items like lubricants and a stop bulb.
The parts came to around £270 and then there was bout 6 hours labour and MoT on top of that...
It was quite a lot of cash in the end but it's good to know that it's been sorted and the ride is so much better than it was before - so much smoother and sure-footed.
Three cheers for Jagutek!
