Seat repair

Postby BookerME » Wed Jun 19, 2024 3:29 pm

I put the front-seat bases put in for repairs to torn leather and badly damaged surrounding materials after they'd incurred some serious wear & tear for over 55 years of use.
Both ended up being fully reconstructed using most of the original leather but with new supporting material below.
After fitting them back, it now feels like sitting on a new car seat.
I now sit a good 2 or 3 inches higher with a much better view. I'd not realised how collapsed and they had become. I’m not short by any means but I’m probably going to have to move the position of the steering wheel to compensate.
I’m very, very impressed with the quality of the work and the turn-round time.
If you’re looking for some upholstery repair, you could do a lot worse than talk to him.
