Window trim finisher removal and refit

Postby BigCatXJS » Sun Apr 14, 2024 9:05 am

Good Morning,

Apologies if this is of no/limited interest: I needed to fix my offside rear window finisher as most of the clips securing it had failed and there was an unsightly 3mm gap where the trim should be flush with the door frame.

I captured the experience on video. The Jaguar Workshop manual (at least the 2002.5 version) just says to release the 9mm bolt and then remove the trim and that refit is the reversal of the removal process. It is a bit more involving than that! Some say 20 mins and moderate difficulty. Try two hours! Although I did repaint the rubber rear quarter glass trim as it was apart.

Hope this might help someone facing the same or similar challenge.

Rich.
