Front windscreen heater relays

Postby nigelcedwards644 » Tue Dec 27, 2022 2:54 pm

The workshop manual says that the two windscreen heater relays of the X308 Daimler Super V8 are mounted on the front bulkhead. Is that in the engine bay or in the cockpit?

Hi nigelcedwards644,
They are not that easy to get at.
The relays are under the bonnet.
Remove the middle plastic cover behind the throttle body at the rear of the engine.
Look down the bulkhead.
There is a big connector bolted together.
I think the relays are hidden near there from memory.
To be honest its easier to remove that 1 philips screw, holding the plastic cover over the brake servo.
You can see the wiring to the screen there. 2 thick wires.
1) Check there is 12v with the engine running and switch on.
2) disconnect connector and measure resistance of screen between the 2 wires. should be low.
There are also fuses for the windscreen.
Numbers 15 and 17 in the Engine Compartment – Engine Management Fuse box.
Both rated 30 amps.
Hope that helps.
Take care.
