Tool Kit for XJS, Original and correct?

Postby davewhit » Wed Feb 11, 2009 12:44 pm

I was looking for an original tool kit for my 1989 V12 5.3 XJ-S Convertible. I have recently seen some, so-called original toolkits which are different from each other. They don't appear to carry part numbers. Is there something spcific to look for to make sure it is the correct version for my specific car model and year?
Any help out there?

Hi Dave,

According to my parts book the part number for your toolkit is CBC 2158. The 3.6 and 5.3 litre toolkits have different spark plug spanners and the cabrio has a different screwdriver to the coupe which i assume is the same as the convertible.

Hope this helps,

Best Regards, barry

Thanks for info. very helpful but i've seen short and long screwdrivers in different kits. Anyway will continue my search for authenticity.
