Drivers frozen door lock and door handle problems

I’m a newbie here, just wondered if anyone on the forum could help, or my have experienced this problem ? My car was frozen this morning and I thought I had defrosted the drivers door handle and lock, however after using hot water on the handle, I used a bit more force then usual to open the door, the door did open but, the door now will not open from the outside of the car only from the inside, climbing over the passenger seat, the car does lock and unlock on all doors using the fob but still won’t open on the drivers side.
Would really appreciate any help if anyone has experienced this kinda problem

May need new drivers door latch- Cost of part around £100 from independent garage.
My drivers door latch has packed up, bit the bullet and recently had it replaced. Dont think the part is terribly robust.
My door latch kept sticking when i unlocked the central locking.
