New member seeking advice

Postby Michael R XK 60 » Mon Nov 08, 2021 9:24 pm

Hi there, I'm a new member with a 2009 XK. I live in Pinner, North West London and was wondering if anyone can please recommend a good garage as the DSC and CATS system warning messages have appeared!

Hi and welcome!

Before you do anything, may I suggest a couple of things. First of all is to ensure the battery is top notch as these cars can throw spurious error codes with sub-optimal batteries, and the second is to have a good read of all the threads on here as the answer may be held within.

Unfortunately I cannot assist in recommending a garage in your area as I am North of the Watford Gap.

Good luck

Tony

Hi Michael

I second the comment re battery condition. I thought mine was fine as it was reading ok voltage wise but the car just went completely dead on me. Had a new battery fitted and since then all ok.

I was getting a lot of warnings coming up periodically, pedestrian warning system mainly and the infotainment system was dead or intermittent but since the battery change - nothing. I put this down to a poor quality battery being fitted previosuly and the car having had very little use.

It would help others if you posted a response to your problem and how and if it was resolved.
