X300 air con hose cap missing

X300 air con hose cap missing

I have noticed the black (screw in?) cap on the air con evaporator to compressor hose (MNA7310AD) on my 1997 X300 is missing. Does it matter if it is missing and if it does, where could I find one?! I have looked at various on line parts catalogues, some show the cap there, some show it missing.

The cap is there to keep the valve clean and prevent dirt ingress to the system, just like a tyre valve cap. A local aircon specialist should be able to supply one. Mike.
